  Baroque cello

It is aimed at well advanced till professionnal baroc cellist but also at "modern" musician, who wants to discover that repertoire; the Alexander technique course, melodic continuo, harmonic continuo and improvisation will be a perfect complement.

  Viola da gamba  
 
In the seventeenth century, few written music for viola da gambe can be reduce to a melodic ligne. Look at Hume, Simpson, Schenk, Ste-Colombe, Dubuisson, Marais… the melodie leads the piece (counterpoint) ; the use of « alla bastarda » is everywhere.

The purpose of this course is trying to understand baroque music in the continuity of the sixteenth to the eighteenth century by looking at what's written and not, at melody and harmony, counterpoint and basso continuo.
 
 
Bring all your piece of basso continuo and we will make a suite out of it!

Masterclasses will be given by Martin Bauer.
It is aimed at well advanced till professionnal gambist; the Alexander technique course, melodic continuo, harmonic continuo and improvisation will be a perfect complement.

It is aimed at well advanced till professionnal baroc musician but also at "modern" musician, who wants to discover that repertoire; the Alexander technique course, harmonic continuo and improvisation will be a perfect complement.

  Chamber music
Musique in Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth century

The chamber music course is lead by Benoît Douchy.
This course is open to amateur and professional ensemble already existing, but it's not compulsory to follow at the same time individual courses; the Alexander technique course will be proposed as a complement.
 
 
However, if you wish to take part to this workshop without being part of an ensemble, you can subscribe in advance before April the 15th. You will be sent a list with all the person interested by forming an ensemble, so that you can try to contact them.

Enrollment, places limited to 4 ensembles.

Groups would be able to take part to the concert in the frame of the Festival Musical de Namur; participation will be left to the discretion of the teachers.
